The wellbeing, health and safety of Our People, contractors and visitors is absolutely essential to our organisational success.
Whilst preventing harm is one key objective, we seek to take a broader approach and recognise that the workplace provides an opportunity to have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of Our People.
The LWWW Framework guides all of AlburyCity’s activity in relation to the wellbeing, health and safety of Our People, with specific actions and priorities captures within the annual WHS Plan. This has led to the introduction of various initiatives that all work the keep us safe and well at work, including:
- Reducing the Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (including consecutive months in 2023 with no lost time injuries).
- Introduction of Lean-In Lunches.
- Development and implementation of Mental Health and Wellbeing Procedures.
- Introduction of Live Well Work Well Leave.
- Continuous improvements to WHS Manual policy and procedures.
Under the LWWW Framework, we have made considerable inroads in pursuit of our goal of zero harm. However, given the changing landscape relating to health and wellbeing at work, and the achievements we have made against the objectives identified in the LWWW Framework, it is now time to review our approach and ensure that it is meeting the needs of Our People and creates an environment for continuous improvement in pursuit of our zero-harm objective.
To guide our review of the Framework, we have identified three focus areas; Prevent, Promote and Support.
Prevent – This is about stopping harm from happening. We want to work with Our People to identify hazards, assess and control risks, and review control measures.
Promote – This is about encouraging Our People to develop healthy habits and behaviours both in the workplace and at home. We will provide opportunities for Our People to learn and implement strategies that promote wellbeing, health and safety.
Support – This is about working with Our People who have experienced injury or illness to get them back working in a supportive environment as quickly as possible.
Please watch the following video to hear Cate (Service Leader, People and Culture) and Shona (Team Leader, Wellbeing, Health and Safety) share some more information about the review and what it means for Our People.
