Lavington Swim Centre Redevelopment – What’s Next
Thanks to everyone who had their say on the future of Lavington Swim Centre.
Following strong community input and support, Council has endorsed Stage 3 of the proposed Masterplan as the preferred design for the redevelopment. This decision was guided by over 290 submissions during our recent engagement period.
Stage 3 received the highest level of community support and offers a long-term solution to replace the existing facility, which is nearing the end of its serviceable life.
What’s included in Stage 3:
- A new 10-lane, 50-metre pool
- A dedicated 35-metre water polo pool
- A 25-metre utility pool
- A new splash pad
- A pool building with admin, kiosk, change rooms and amenities
- A flexible social room for clubs and community use
Next steps:
- Detailed design work is now underway with Canvas Projects.
- Council will begin preparing funding submissions as suitable grant programs become available.
- A further report will be presented to Council once the detailed design is complete, including operational cost estimates and options to proceed under a maximum-price contract.
This upgrade will deliver modern, inclusive and accessible facilities for the whole community – supporting local sport, recreation, wellbeing and regional events.
