Overview
AlburyCity is developing a new Aviation Strategy to guide the future of Albury Airport (Fly Albury) — ensuring it continues to meet the needs of our growing region, strengthen local connectivity, and support a vibrant, sustainable economy.
The strategy will set the direction for the next 5 years, helping the airport adapt to changing markets, new technologies, and community expectations. It builds on the success of Albury Airport as a key regional gateway and critical base for emergency and aeromedical services across southern New South Wales and north-east Victoria.
By working closely with our community, industry, and government partners, this strategy will identify opportunities to grow passenger and freight services, enhance the traveller experience, and ensure the airport remains financially sustainable and future ready.
Why this matters
Albury Airport connects more than 250,000 residents across the region with destinations across Australia and supports industries vital to our economy, including freight, tourism, and emergency services.
The new strategy will help us:
- Strengthen the airport’s financial sustainability and future readiness.
- Support aviation-related business and job growth.
- Improve passenger experience and connectivity.
- Ensure infrastructure, technology, and services keep pace with demand.
- Align airport development with the Towards Albury 2050 community vision.
Have Your Say
Your feedback will help shape the future of Albury Airport.
We’re asking residents, businesses, and visitors to share what matters most — whether that’s more destinations, better facilities, or stronger links between the airport and our region’s economy.
There are several ways to get involved:
- Complete the online survey – open until 9 January 2026 - Two $500 flight vouchers will be awarded – one to a respondent travelling via Albury Airport and one to a respondent who is not
- Attend a community workshop – dates to be confirmed.
- Visit the information stand at Albury Airport or selected local events to learn more and share your thoughts in person.
- Talk to us – we’ll be engaging directly with businesses, airlines, and regional stakeholders to explore opportunities for growth and innovation.
Your ideas and feedback will directly inform the draft Aviation Strategy, which will be presented for public exhibition in early 2026.
