We’re developing a Precinct Plan that will guide the growth and long term development of the neighbourhoods along Borella Road and near to the Albury Hospital Campus. This will help us to plan for the changes and opportunities that are likely to occur with the expected growth in housing, retail, health services and facilities.
The concepts we’ve developed for the East Albury Precinct Plan build a shared vision for the area including:
- An extended local centre and a new mixed-use area to encourage a wider variety of businesses and therefore create more jobs for locals
- Better active transport links and signalisation of key intersections to improve safety and accessibility for people who walk, cycle and use mobility aids
- Improved housing choice, including higher density housing to cater for different circumstances (social housing, affordable housing, key worker housing and visitor accommodation)
- Better access to parks and public open space to improve wellbeing outcomes for everybody.
