Help shape safer and more respectful online community spaces

Social media plays an important role in how AlburyCity shares information, connects with the community and encourages conversations about local projects, services and events.

We’re inviting community feedback on a suite of updated draft social media documents designed to support safe, respectful and transparent online engagement across AlburyCity-managed platforms.

The draft documents include:

  • Draft Social Media Policy
  • Draft Social Media Procedure
  • Draft Community Guidelines
  • Draft User Generated Content Guidelines.

Why are these documents being reviewed?

The digital environment changes quickly, and online expectations continue to evolve.

These draft updates respond to:

  • changes in social media platforms and online behaviours
  • updated NSW Office of Local Government guidance
  • the inclusion of Child Safe Standards
  • clearer moderation expectations
  • improving online safety for both community members and Council staff.

The updated documents aim to support respectful conversations while helping ensure Council’s social media channels remain welcoming, informative and safe for everyone.
