Overview

AlburyCity is committed to delivering safe, clean and reliable drinking water to our community. To strengthen this commitment, we’ve drafted a new Drinking Water Quality Policy.

The policy sets out how we manage drinking water safety in line with national guidelines and NSW legislation. It also supports our Drinking Water Management System, which provides a framework to monitor, assess and continually improve how we deliver water services.

By introducing this standalone policy, we’re reinforcing our focus on public health, environmental protection, and community trust.

Why this matters

Clean, reliable drinking water is a service we often take for granted — but it underpins:

  • Public health – protecting our community from illness and harm
  • Community growth – supporting new housing and development
  • Economic opportunity – ensuring water security for businesses and industry
  • Environmental care – managing water treatment processes to protect natural waterways and biodiversity

This policy is part of meeting our obligations under the NSW Public Health Act 2010 and the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, and ensures AlburyCity continues to meet the highest standards for water safety.
