We're inviting feedback on AlburyCity’s draft Councillor Expenses and Facilities Policy. This policy outlines how Council ensures transparency and accountability in the reimbursement of expenses, and the provision of facilities to support Councillors in their civic duties.

The policy applies to all Councillors—including the Mayor and Deputy Mayor—and sets out what can be claimed in relation to travel, superannuation, professional development, work-related functions, insurance, legal expenses (in relevant cases), and the provision of equipment and facilities needed to perform their roles.

While annual Councillor fees are determined externally by the Local Government Remuneration Tribunal, this policy does address the treatment of superannuation contributions.
