Australia Day Consultation – Community Feedback Summary
At its meeting on 28 October 2024, Council resolved to undertake community consultation to help guide the future of Australia Day activities from 2026 onwards.
Over a two-week engagement period, we received 140 community responses, providing valuable insights into community sentiment.
Key Findings:
✅ 70% of respondents supported Council’s role in funding and hosting Australia Day activities.
❌ 23% did not support this role, highlighting a range of perspectives within the community.
📍 Attendance & Satisfaction:
- 54% of respondents attended Australia Day activities at Noreuil Park Foreshore.
- 49% attended the Citizenship Ceremony.
- 97% of Citizenship Ceremony attendees were satisfied or very satisfied.
- 98% of Australia Day activity attendees were satisfied or very satisfied.
