Help Shape Albury’s New Play Space Strategy

Albury is home to a large network of play spaces in fact; we have three times the national benchmark. As our city grows, we’re taking a fresh look at how these spaces are planned, updated and enjoyed making sure they meet the needs of our community now and into the future.

Many of our older play spaces no longer meet today’s expectations for accessibility, safety, shade, comfort and inclusive play. This review gives us the opportunity to reimagine how our parks and playgrounds can bring people together, support active lifestyles and create welcoming spaces for all ages and abilities.

We want play spaces that:
• are accessible and inclusive
• offer modern, safe and engaging play experiences
• include shade, seating and amenities
• reflect the character of our neighbourhoods
• encourage social connection and community pride

Your voice is essential as we plan for what comes next.

Why We’re Reviewing Play Spaces

Albury’s population is growing, and the way families use parks and playgrounds is changing. This project will help us:

• understand what the community values in its neighbourhood play spaces
• identify where upgrades, renewals or new play spaces may be needed
• explore opportunities for inclusive and intergenerational play
• ensure future investment is directed where it will have the most impact
• create a long-term Play Space Strategy that guides improvements across the city

This is an early-stage consultation, and your ideas will directly shape the priorities and principles in the draft Strategy.

Have Your Say

We’d love to understand how you use Albury’s play spaces and what matters most to you. Your feedback will help us plan for play spaces that are accessible, engaging and designed for people of all ages and abilities.

You can share your thoughts by completing the online survey below - tell us about your experiences, needs and ideas.

What Happens Next

We’ll bring together your feedback, technical assessments and future planning needs to create a draft Play Space Strategy. The draft will be shared with the community for further input before it is finalised.

Together, we can build play spaces that are welcoming, fun and accessible for everyone.
